ICLogistics is a “Net-Centric” solutions company that specializes in supply chain integration and international trade facilitation strategies using web-based software and data hosting solutions. The firm offers integration solutions that connect businesses, large and small, with suppliers, customers, and governments to enhance supply chain management and revenue flow. The company has developed a suite of proprietary software products and services that allow business partners to search and share critical information seamlessly and in real-time, regardless of software platform or technical sophistication, in a secure and reliable infrastructure. Specific rights are provided by US Patents and protection extends to India and the European Union (EU). ICLogistics has used this business platform to launch a number of wholly owned subsidiaries and global joint ventures that tackle the multi-faceted issues of supply chain integration and third party logistics in the 21st Century.
History
Inner Circle Logistics, Inc. was founded on December 4, 1998 and incorporated in Delaware on August 29, 1999. President & CEO, John Clendenin, a senior faculty member at Harvard Business School, took a leave of absence to launch the company. Upon formal acceptance of a board of directors and management team, operations began in earnest.  What follows is a timeline in the establishment and growth of Inner Circle Logistics.

  • Establishment of Corporate Headquarters in Saint Louis, MO – 2000
  • Development of initial business concept and development stage – 2000
  • Completion of software requirements definition, business process design, and intellectual property protection filings - 2001
  • Successfully filed for the Business Process Patent, US07155455, “System and method for making data available for supply chain integration" – 2001
  • Early stage beta testing and focus group engagement – 2003
  • Initial customer engagement and market feasibility in – 2004
  • Implementation of international and major customer deployments – 2005
  • Awarding of economic development benefits and establishment of an International Headquarters in Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – 2005
  • Development of partnering agreements with University of the Virgin Islands  and creation of the non-profit entity, ICProgress - 2005
  • Detailed engagements in agribusiness, floriculture, and international supply chain analysis – 2006
  • Roll out of customized purchasing and expediting systems – 2007
  • Engagement in international trade facilitation and alternative energy initiatives – 2008
  • Creation of the first functioning, multiple country United Nation’s “single window” type data entry system - 2008
  • Establishment of the first Balkan Center of Supply Chain Excellence - 2008
  • Further market penetration and expansion across these fields are scheduled for 2009.
Management
Inner Circle Logistics’ management is well prepared for the challenge of building a leading supply chain software company adaptable to future challenges of the global economy. The team is comprised of seasoned logistics, software development, and marketing experts with a combined track record of success spanning over 300 years of experience.

John Clendenin, Chief Executive Officer and Founder
Mr. Clendenin brings extensive experience in integrated supply chain and international trade facilitation from the perspective of both a Fortune 500 executive and as a former member of the senior faculty at Harvard Business School. As a Xerox executive, he was responsible for designing processes that reduced corporate inventories by $700M during a period of hyper-growth. As a renowned expert in logistics, John was appointed with other industry leaders by the National Research Council to the Committee on Supply Chain Integration which produced a seminal book on supply chain integration for small and medium-sized businesses. John is a retired US Marine Telecommunications Officer who earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the Boards of EquipNetDirect.com and City Fresh Foods.

Benjamin Pack, Chief Operations Officer
Mr. Pack is responsible for the day-to-day operations and strategic planning for ICLogistics and its subsidiaries.  Past positions with the company include Director of Strategy and Manager of Supply Chain Strategy and Business Process. A Registered Professional Engineer, Mr. Pack has first-hand experience with the collaborative research and development process and intimately understands the need for the exchange of various types of documents and data within any given supply chain. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and an MBA from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.

Lawrence “Larry” Smith, Jr., Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Smith is a board member offering CFO consulting services with extensive experience as a fixed income portfolio manager, an asset-based lender, a microcap P&L manager, and a Fortune 500 corporate finance executive. Larry has trained at the Venture Capital Institute and is the president of the TM Group, which provides advisory services to CEOs and CFOs with a tactical emphasis on productivity, profitability and cash flow and a strategic focus on vision-tuning, business planning and competitive positioning. Larry is an adjunct faculty member in the Finance Division at Babson College. He brings substantive experience in leading organizations through periods of discontinuous change, including hyper-growth. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Charles “Charlie” Boyd, Chief Administrative Officer
Mr. Boyd oversees the Human Resources, Administration and Contracts Departments. Prior to joining ICLogistics, Mr. Boyd worked for Educational Services Inc. where he rose quickly through the ranks to become the College Director at the start-up ITT Technical Institute located in Springfield, VA. Charlie has held a variety of high-level administrative, public relations, and recruitment positions over the span of the past fifteen years and brings to ICLogistics a proven leadership track record in the areas of human resources and public relations, as well as expertise in the fields of marketing and recruitment. He is also a retired Lieutenant Colonel with over 28 years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps.
